Quick Cake
- 5 oz Pillsbury Devil's Food cake mix
- 1 egg
- ⅓ cup of water
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 2 oz cream cheese
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp amaretto
- 2 tbsp milk
- ground nutmeg as a garnish (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour 2 small cake pans like the ones pictured below

- Add the cake mix, oil, egg, and water to a small bowl.
- Whisk or stir until well combined.
- Pour the batter into each cake pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Place on a wire rack and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
- Before completely cool, turn cake out onto the wire rack and the cake pan should release easily.
- When ready to serve, make the frosting by whisking together the frosting ingredients in a small bowl.
- Frost the cakes by either dipping or pouring the frosting over the cake and sprinkling with ground nutmeg (if desired).
