Ingredients
Cake
  • 5 oz Pillsbury Devil's Food cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup of water
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
Frosting
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp amaretto
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ground nutmeg as a garnish (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour 2 small cake pans like the ones pictured below
  4. Add the cake mix, oil, egg, and water to a small bowl.
  5. Whisk or stir until well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into each cake pan.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Place on a wire rack and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Before completely cool, turn cake out onto the wire rack and the cake pan should release easily.
  10. When ready to serve, make the frosting by whisking together the frosting ingredients in a small bowl.
  11. Frost the cakes by either dipping or pouring the frosting over the cake and sprinkling with ground nutmeg (if desired).
