Orange Cranberry Sauce

With Thanksgiving a few weeks away, I wanted to post a few Thanksgiving recipes perfect for sharing so you had time to decide which ones you want to prepare! Of course, you could make these for yourself anytime, but imagine how happy your friends and family will be if you brought something you made yourself to share with them. So whatever your plans are for the holidays, here is a winner for a homemade cranberry sauce! Now, let’s make some cranberries pop!

Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients
  • 1 12oz bag of fresh cranberries, cleaned
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • Zest from 1 large orange
  • Juice from 1 large orange (1/2 to ¾ cup of juice )
  • ⅛ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ to ½ cup of brandy (optional)
Instructions
  1. Over medium low heat in a small sauce pan, combine the orange juice, brown sugar, and spices over medium heat.
  2. When the sugar has dissolved and is simmering lightly, add the cranberries and cook until the berries burst and the sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the zest and brandy and reduce to desired consistency before transferring to a bowl to cool before serving.
